We just got an SPX+ unit a couple weeks ago, and it has been losing network connectivity shortly after powerup.
It’s immediately accessible again after unplugging power for a moment.
The admin web interface allows us to login and unit appears to be operating fine, and then it starts displaying “socket error” and the web interface is inaccessible from that point on, until rebooting the unit again.
Environment:
- a climate-controlled server room
- a known good ethernet patch cable
- connected to an Aruba 2930F gigabit switch
- IP assigned with reserved DHCP
- has one sensor connected (an LCD temp module)
- Powered with the supplied AC adapter connected through a PDU to a line-conditioned UPS
Are there any known reasons why these would behave this way? Some incorrect settings?
The system event log shows nothing besides a power up event, and admin login event.
Could it be connecting to the AKCP cloud and cutting off our local connectivity?
Thanks,

Hello AKCP Customer,
Thank you for letting us know about this issue. The problem could be a number of scenarios causing the disconnecting. For example polling time, if the unit is being polled by a third party SNMP utility too frequently can cause the loss of connectivity. Others would be perhaps security & or antivirus software running on the network blocking the IP address that is assigned to the the SPX+.
Due to the amount of possible scenarios, it would be a big help in this case to send us the support file from the unit to support@akcp.com. Please proceed to download and send a fresh support file (Settings > Maintenance > Send Configuration To Support > Download) and we can take a look at the internal logs and most likely resolve your problem.
Please also include the other details regarding the polling times, screen shots of error messages etc., that will also help us help you.
Best regards,
AKCP Support Team

Thanks for the reply,
So this is a new unit, and we’re just trying to get started with it.
There is currently no SNMP polling happening at all, and no firewall in play- as it’s inaccessible from within it’s own subnet. (It doesn’t even respond to a ping…)
We’ll send the longs to support this morning.
Thanks,
