Hello AKCP Team,

Please help, when I open the APS Server Manger on my computer the services are not starting. And also, I cannot save any changes in my connected SP+ units from the APS. What could be my problem?

Thank you!

Hello AKCP Customer,

Most likely both issues have the same origin: there’s some network problem preventing the APS from communicating with the AKCP SP+ units properly. However, you need to make sure the APS software is upgraded to the latest on our website.

If the RPC port is blocked on the firewall, it can also cause service startup issues. We would recommend to check the RPC communication troubleshooting as follows:

– Check that APS Server Integration option is enabled on the AKCP SP+ unit.

– Check the netmask value and gateway setting on both ends (AKCP unit and APS), they must be the same

– Check that APS PC’s firewall doesn’t block TCP port 5000 and SNMP UDP 161

– Check that any other firewall in-between doesn’t block TCP port 5000 and SNMP UDP 161 (it needs to be allowed on both sides).

– Check SP+/SEC Network Access Control feature, if it has a blacklist for network IP or network range used by the APS.

– Recommended to also allow ping request and reply on the firewall.

In addition, make sure no other programs are using these same network ports on the server (most importantly TCP 5000 and UDP 161).

The Windows SNMP service is known to cause this problem, please remove it if it’s been installed. And for removing unplugged sensors, you will need to offline them: click on the green “online” icon and it will put them offline.

This is also necessary when plugging in a different type of sensor than what it was there before.

Please contact your local dealer, or our support team if you are still having these issues.

Best regards,
