Yes, that is correct, the APS versions released after v14 requires the purchase of the licenses.

However, you can download our APS software and install it for free from this link here and activate this online; https://www.akcp.com/akcp-products/akcpro-server/

After your online activation is completed, your license will include the following licenses for no charge that will expire annually after the activation;

APS-HOST’s (SPX+, SP-WTS, securityProbe, E-IS8, E-OP16) = 4 units
3PS-APS (virtual sensors on the APS) = 5 sensors
APSIPCAM (ONVIF IP camera) = 0 IP cameras
TMPT-APS-15 (15 virtual sensors on a single IP address) = 0 sensors
TMPT-APS-25 (25 virtual sensors on a single IP address) = 0 sensors
TMPT-APS-35 (35 virtual sensors on a single IP address) = 0 sensors
APS-HOST-2 (SP2, SP2+, SP1+) = 4 units
APS-HOST-SEN (virtual sensors from SP+ base units) = 0 sensors
APS-BOARD Expansion Units (CCU, E-IS8, E-Opto16) = 0 units

If you require more than the default free licenses above, these need to be purchased. Please check our latest price sheet, contact your local dealer or our sales team directly (sales@akcp.com) for the costs on these using the product codes noted above.

You can also purchase a 1-year unlimited license which includes an unlimited amount of the licenses noted above. This license needs to be renewed annually. Extended licenses can be purchased up to 10 years.

Pop up license expiration notices – Our APS system will inform you with continuous pop-up alerts advising your license will expire soon. You will need to inform your local dealer or us directly if you wish to renew the current license or make changes to this prior to the license expiring.

License Expired – If you, or your customer allows the APS license to expire, you will no longer be able to log in to APS as well as all monitoring of your connected units stop. Your only option is to purchase your license again, as you cannot return back to your default license.
